While lacking the the convience and sophistication of a winch operated system, the Vanguard provides an intelligent, economical alternative to the deluxe concealed halyard systems. The Vanguard's wire center halyard runs through a stationary truck and is secured in a cam-actioncleat located inside the flagpole behind a lockable access door. All fittings for a complete installation are included: gols anodized aluminum ball ornament, swivel flag snaps with vinyl covers, retaining ring, counterweight, a stainless steel quick link to make all necessary connections, spun aluminum flash collar and galvanized steel foundation sleeve. Deluxe IH Series of Internal Halyard Flagpoles 20' - 80' -- Deluxe IH Series Flagpoles 20' - 80' These deluxe internal halyard flagpoles contain a winch mounted inside the flagpole shaft, operable only with a removable crank handle. As the stainless steel cable unwinds from the winch, it passes up through the inside of the flagpole shaft, over the truck sheave to the outside of the shaft, where the retaining ring provides a sliding anchor. A counterweight, heavily coated with neoprene, attached to the retaining ring, allows the halyard to be lowered for fastening or removing the flag. The halyard is then raised completely out of reach of vandals. The improved winch is gearless and self locking at any point, eliminating the need for a seperate brake. This direct drive winch provides rapid raising and lowering of the flag with little effort. This new, improved design does not require any welding, thus avoiding discoloration when an anodized finish is desired. No monthly lubrication is needed.
